IPMA Empowers Senior Government Officials Through Specialized Training on Gas Convention Negotiations and Contract Follow-Up
In a major effort to reinforce local governance and regulatory expertise in the energy sector, the International Petroleum and Mining Academy (IPMA), formerly operating as the Cameroon Petrochemical Engineering (CPE) Academy, successfully delivered a specialized high-level capacity-building workshop for senior government delegates in Cameroon.
The intensive executive training program targeted fifteen key directors from the Cameroon Government Coordination and Follow-up Committee of the Etinde Gas Convention, representing five strategic government ministries involved in energy, petroleum policy, legal frameworks, and economic regulation.
Strengthening Capacity in Gas Contract Negotiation and Oversight
The strategic initiative was fully sponsored by NEWAGE OIL AND GAS COMPANY LIMITED CAMEROON, demonstrating a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility, institutional capacity building, and sustainable energy development in the Central African sub-region.
Under the core theme “Negotiation and Follow-up of Gas Contracts in Cameroon,” the executive program provided participants with in-depth technical, legal, and operational insights necessary to evaluate, negotiate, and monitor complex gas conventions.
As Cameroon expands its gas monetization projects and offshore developments, the training equipped public sector decision-makers with modern tools to ensure that national interests, economic yields, and regulatory compliance are effectively maintained across all phases of gas extraction and distribution.
