IPMA and Equatorial Guinea Ministry of Mines & Hydrocarbons Partner for Sub-Regional Petro-Mining Human Capital Development<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In a major milestone for cross-border academic and technical collaboration, the Acad\u00e9mie internationale du p\u00e9trole et des mines (IPMA)<\/strong> has established a strategic working partnership with the Ministry of Mines and Hydrocarbons of Equatorial Guinea<\/strong>, represented by His Excellency Mr. Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This landmark bilateral initiative focuses on equipping the youth of Equatorial Guinea with specialized expertise in Advanced Oil and Gas Refinery Technology<\/strong> as well as Corrosion Control and Prevention Technology for Oil and Petrochemical Industries<\/strong><\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deploying Expert Training Technology Across Central Africa<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Under this partnership framework, IPMA Cameroon, the developer of these specialized curriculum programs, will deploy highly qualified trainers from Cameroon to execute the instruction<\/sup>. The training will take place on-site at the National Technological Institute of Hydrocarbons of Equatorial Guinea (ITNHGE)<\/strong><\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spanning a duration of 24 months<\/strong>, the comprehensive technical program is scheduled to commence at the start of the 2026\/2027 academic year<\/strong><\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To finalize operational frameworks and exchange training technologies, Mr. Gembom Denis<\/strong>, President Director General of IPMA, held high-level executive discussions with Mr. Ramon Bibang<\/strong>, Director General of ITNHGE<\/sup>. Their dialogue focused on leveraging regional synergies to cultivate a resilient, highly skilled workforce capable of driving the sub-region’s oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Pillars of the Partnership<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This sub-regional alliance centers on critical technical areas essential to modern refinery operations and industrial infrastructure maintenance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Advanced Oil and Gas Refinery Technology:<\/strong> Delivering cutting-edge instruction on processing, distillation, thermal cracking, and petrochemical refining operations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Corrosion Control and Prevention Technology:<\/strong> Equipping technicians and engineers with vital strategies to protect industrial assets, pipelines, and offshore platforms against environmental degradation and structural failure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Faculty and Technology Transfer:<\/strong> Facilitating the direct transfer of curriculum technology and academic methodologies between IPMA and ITNHGE.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Sub-Regional Skill Standardization:<\/strong> Aligning competency frameworks between Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea to support a unified, qualified energy workforce across Central Africa.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Building the Central Africa Regional Petro-Mining Engineering University Vision<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    This collaborative partnership goes beyond immediate technical training, serving as a powerful proof-of-concept for a larger vision: the establishment of a dedicated Central Africa Regional Petro-Mining Engineering University<\/strong><\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    By pooling educational resources, technical expertise, and institutional capacities across national borders, IPMA and ITNHGE are setting a benchmark for South-South cooperation<\/sup>. Together, both institutions are empowering young Africans to take ownership of the continent’s rich natural resources through local technical excellence<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
